PAW PLANS FOR SUMMER CAMP 2021!
We Are So Happy To Announce That Our Groundbreaking Online Summer Camp
Via Zoom Will Be Back For The Summer Of 2021 And Beyond!

BUT, THE BURNING QUESTION ON ALL OUR MINDS…
will PAW Campers get to have an in-person camp option in 2021?
Well, the good news is that while we have our super fun online camp option available, we are continuing to monitor public health and safety announcements from the CDC & other health agencies for the green light to implement Performing Arts based activities (which includes group singing) for larger capacities of children. Of course the safety and well-being of our campers, teachers, families, and facility staff is our top priority. Our criteria for when we will bring back our in-person programs includes a timeline for when there is a COVID-19 vaccine that has been deemed safe, effective, and available to all children and families. In the hopes that the stars align by early Spring and these safety prerequisites come together, we proudly announce our 2021 In-Person Camp Season below! Registration for our online summer camp is already open. Registration for our IN-PERSON camp will be open only when we have confirmation that it is safe to return to PAW’s regularly scheduled camp programming!

PAW offers the ultimate arts experience, from rehearsal to performance, in a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment. PAW Musical Theater campers do not need to audition for a place in camp or for a part in the show. Every child will receive a role in the show based on individual aptitude and what will best suit their comfort level. Our teachers are specialists in their fields and have extensive experience working with children. Many of our teachers work professionally in theater, film and television and/or have their bachelors or masters degrees in their respective fields.

“To be an actor, you have to be a child.”
- Paul Newman

Step into the spotlight and come shine on stage! If you’ve been “bit by the acting bug,” come join us for an exciting adventure in theater! Winner of 2010’s BEST Children’s Live Theater and BEST Summer Camp in LA Parent Magazine, PAW’s Musical Theater summer camp is a creative, safe haven where kids ages 5 – 15 can learn the craft of acting.

Expand your horizons and awaken the artist within! Young actors of all skill levels are welcome, from novices to seasoned thespians alike. All you need is a little curiosity and a love for performing!

PAW’s core curriculum of acting, dance, voice & speech is designed with children in mind. Coupled with the guidance of our teachers, the curriculum fosters a “creative state” with which students are empowered to realize their personal and artistic potential. In addition to these core skills, our campers will also enjoy learning about physical comedy, stage presence, commercials, playwriting, stage combat, improv and much, much, more!

CASTING & CAMP ACTIVITIES

  • We at Performing Arts Workshops work to provide a non-competitive, nurturing and fun environment for our campers. Children are enrolled in camp on a first come, first served basis. No audition is necessary.
  • All roles in the workshops are assigned to the children by our staff. Campers are not required to do cold readings or prepare memorized audition pieces.
  • We reserve the right to determine casting at our discretion.
  • Any special clothing, costumes or dress is provided by the parents.
  • Our camp recital is free and attended by the friends and family members of our campers.
Discover The PAW Difference
  • Our campers are able to participate in our camp and receive parts in our shows without ever having to audition!
  • Family and friends are able to attend our shows without ever having to buy or sell a ticket to the performances…they are free!
  • PAW has no hidden production costs or fees. Unlike so many other camps, here at PAW, you will never pay fees for photos, video, costume, mic, sets, theater, or tickets.
  • We post free camp photos and video reels on our Facebook page for family and friends to enjoy and download.
  • We encourage parents to enjoy taking photos and video for their personal enjoyment of our camp shows.
  • Our teachers are our primary focus when we think of what is provided to your child.  Every teacher comes to us either possessing or working towards their degree in their arts discipline as well as having prior work teaching children. They also clear a criminal background check prior to being placed in the classroom.
  • Our focus is on the educational value of an arts experience, utilizing a child friendly and family friendly approach.
  • PAW works hard to ensure no child goes without an arts education if they want one.  We have scholarship assistance, family & friend discounts, and a company culture of caring.
